Privacy Policy

1. Overview

EduPlatform Software Services ("we", "our") provides cloud-based school management software and the EduLive marketplace for live lessons. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and the choices you have.

2. Data we collect

• Account data: name, email address, phone number and password (stored hashed).
• School & academic data: student records, attendance, grades, assignments and communications you give us permission to process.
• Marketplace data: lessons you schedule or enrol in, enrolment records, payment references and transaction amounts.
• Usage & technical data: device type and diagnostics needed to keep the service working.
• Live-classroom streams: camera, microphone and screen-share media are sent directly between participants via peer-to-peer WebRTC. We do not record or upload your audio/video to our servers.

3. How we use data

To provide and improve the service: authentication, enrolling you in lessons, processing payments through third-party payment providers (Hubtel mobile money), delivering live classes, sending class and result notifications, and providing support.

4. Sharing and hosting

We do not sell your data. We rely on service providers to run the platform, each bound by their own security and confidentiality obligations:

• Vercel — web hosting for this site.
• Render — application and database hosting.
• Hubtel — payment processing and SMS delivery. Payments are handled by the provider; we never store your card numbers or mobile-money PINs.
• Google (Gemini) — powers the Teacher Kofi AI assistant. When you use Teacher Kofi, the text you type and, where you use voice features, the audio you send are processed by Google to generate a reply and spoken audio. Do not send Teacher Kofi personal data you would not want processed for that purpose.
• Email delivery — transactional email (verification, receipts, notifications) is sent through our email provider.

Live-classroom audio and video are exchanged peer-to-peer between participants and are not recorded or stored by us or these providers.

5. Retention

We keep account and academic records for as long as your account is active and as required to comply with legal or audit obligations. Live-classroom media is not retained by us.

6. Children's privacy

Where a school uses EduPlatform for students, the school remains responsible for parental consent. We collect student data only as instructed by the authorised school account and process it to operate the service.

7. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, or opt out of marketing notifications, by contacting us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
